Samuel Eto’o seems to have started a long love story between Catalan giants F.C Barcelone and Cameroonian footballers. After bringing glory and leaving the club ,other Cameroonian players are already making fans and pundits excited. One of those Cameroonian players is 16 year old Jean Marie Dongou Tsafack- born on April 20,1995 . The fast -paced striker arrived La Masia- F.C Barcelone’s youth academy- at the tender age of 13 and with hardwork and drive immediatedly went into goal- scoring overdrive. During the 2007/2008 season, he wowed; scoring 58 goals excluding those netted during friendlies. The following season, he found himself playing in three different categories and despite his opponents being older than him, he found the back of the net 35 times. In recent times, he has been leading his team to easy wins. His performances have earned not only praises from his teammates and coaches they have also triggered  a steady avalanche of comparisons with greats like Samuel Eto’o and Argentinian whizkid Lionel Messi. Rumours are even rife that if there isn’t space for him rightaway in the senior team, he may be heading for Arsenal. Despite the cascades of accolades, the budding serial goalscorer remains level-headed and keeps his eyes on the ball which is presently enriching his bag of football tricks so that the day he steps unto the pitch as a member of the senior team fans can quickly chant his name in the stands. Young Dongou is one of the players from Eto’o's sports academy.

Latest reports suggest that Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto’o won’t appeal against his 15 match suspension. These reports quote the player’s lawyer Gabriel Kaldjob as saying that the player has asked him not to appeal against the disciplinary committee’s decision. While this has come as a surprise to many who taught the captain was going to act otherwise, others have been quick to point out that Article 55 sub 2 of the internal  rules governing the Lions makes it possible for the Fecafoot president and the Minister of sports to appeal against decisions taken by the disciplinary committee.Whether this is the final chapter of the botched- Algeria friendly is still unknown but speculation is rife that we are in for more twist and turns.

La Fécafoot veut calmer les Algériens

Cameroon captain Samuel Eto’o has been slammed a 15-match ban by Cameroon football federation FECAFOOT. Samuel Eto’o has been blamed for frequent money issue disputes in the national team especially during the 4 nation tournament in Marrakech. He led a strike demanding unpaid dues and influenced the players to boycot a friendly against Algeria.

The striker  has two weeks to appeal the ban which would rule him out of a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations tie in Guinea Bissau on February 29 next year and 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Democratic Republic of Congo and Libya in June.

The Algerian coach is quite happy with the 15-match ban which cost Algeria $1 million.

Eyong Enoh has equally been banned for 2 matches and Assou Ekoto fined $2000 for failing to respect the invitation at the Marrakech Tournament.

World football governing body, FIFA alongside France Football (one of the most reputable sports publications in Europe) has  released a list of candidates for the award of the world’s best player of the year 2011.
Good news to all football fans of NexDim is the list which was drafted by FIFA’s football commission and the development and technical commission too has the captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, four times African player of the year (2003,2004,2005, 2010) and present Russian striker, Samuel Eto’o as the only African amongst 23 men shortlisted for this prestigious prize as world’s best player. So far “Pichichi” does not only represent Africa here but also stands as the lone star shining within the African continent from Cameroon.

Worthy of note is the fact that the  Spanish FC Barcelona has 8 of its players as nominees. Awesome! Isn’tit?

Argentina’s Lionel Messi pops up again as nominee even after winning last year’s award alongside Eric Abidal, Dani Alves, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Xavi, David Villa and Fabregas, all of Barca. The coach Guardiola must be so so overwhelmed. (even if na you?)

Real Madrid another Spanish side grabbed 5 nominations with 2008 winner of the award Cristiano Ronaldo, Iker Casillas, Mesut Ozil, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso.
Over all decisions will come from the captains and head coaches of these candidates as well as some France Football selected international media representatives.

The winner of the 2011 prize will go side by side with awards for the world’s best female player and the finest male and female coaches at the FIFA Ballon D’or gala to take place at Palais des Congres Zurich on the 9th of January 2012.
