SAMUEL ETO’O CONVEYS GRATITUDE TO ROGER MILLA

During the Cameroon’s 2023 Ballon D’Or ceremony, Samuel Eto’o hero-worshipped Cameroon football legend Roger Milla.

He said:

“When I was receiving my first Ballon D’Or here in Yaoundé , I surprised you with the pair of socks you gave me when I was just 13 years old.

This pair of socks changed my life. I was born not far from Mvog Ada and raised not far from New Bell. Imagine, what next would’ve been reserved for this kid. I was destined to end up in prison.

That’s the truth. But I was deeply moved by my encounter with Roger Milla. I was with my late father. I had the burning desire to see the one who inspired me, who made me to dream, to prove to Cameroon that we can. I want to take this opportunity to say ‘Thank you'”
