Eric-Maxim Choupo Moting was born on the 23rd of March 1989 in Hamburg, Germany of a Cameroonian father and a German mother.  He is a Cameroonian attacker who currently plays for German club, FC Nuremburg on loan from Hamburger SV. Choupo-Moting made is very first Bundesliga appearance on the 11th of August 2007 against Hannover 96 as a substitute.

His irresistible technical skills earned him a place with the under 19 German squad.

Watching the tape of the match, Nuremberg-Bayern Leverkusen (3-1), Paul Le Guen was seduced. That day, Choupo Moting   scored twice, and  helped bring down the club that  was previously unbeaten in the Bundesliga. He was called up by the Cameroon national team coach on the 11th of May to join the Cameroon squad. Since he had played for the German squad, the complain about his naturalization was tabled to FIFA.

His qualification to play for Cameroon came by the end of May. He scored his first goal against Serbia on the 5th of June 2010.

Choupo Moting is a player to watch at this FIFA world cup 2010. He proves to be prolific attacker with the ability of making assists and scoring goals.
