Samuel Eto’s critics in recent times

Posted In: Hype, NEWS, Sports by The Administrator

Inter Milan coach Leonardo has again defended striker Samuel Eto’o for his wasteful display against Juventus.

Directly after the match, Leonardo refused to blame Eto’o for Inter’s 1-0 loss to Juve despite the Cameroon captain missing a number of good chances. He preferred to highlight the team’s slow movement of the ball as the real reason instead.

However since then, Eto’o has been criticised heavily in some quarters for his Juve performance which included missing a sitter from five yards – hitting the bar with an open goal to aim at – and completely missing an attempted volley.

Leonardo was quoted on Skysports.com as saying: “It takes a brave man to criticise Eto’o, he’s scored 27 goals [this season]

It can happen that in one second he doesn’t find the right space or contact but talking about an Eto’o problem that doesn’t exist, I can’t believe someone can get knocked down for something like that.

It seems to me as if it’s an attack against Inter, as if they [the critics] were waiting for us to lose a game.

Inter are currently in fourth place, eight points behind leaders AC Milan with a game in hand. They play at Fiorentina on Wednesday.

When he does well nobody criticies but  a game without a gaol the whole world is making noice. He has alots of surprises for the world on the way.

Profile: CHARLES FONTA

Posted In: Hip Hop, Hype, Profile by The Administrator

”My name is Charles Fonta. I was born in Cameroon. I grew up
listening to Western and African music, which later became
the foundation of everything I do today. My mother was influential
in this process, making it easy for my younger brother and I to
attend numerous live concerts during our early teenage years.

My younger brother Tanka brought a guitar home in 1981, and
that peeked my interest. My parents showed their displeasure
when I showed interest, but the seeds were already planted in
my mind. I came to the US intending to attend college in 1986
at University of Wisconsin-Stout. In 1993, I bought my first bass
on a whim, growing tired of being the good son, and doing
something that I had nurtured for so long. The reason I settled
for the bass was because I could not afford a drumset, I started
taking drum lessons from a drummer who played with my
cousin in the defunct Shalita band.

My cousin, Brain Boma is the one who mentored me, insisting
I learn to play scales to shorten my learning curve. In 1995, I got
my first chance, auditioning for local reggae band the Maroons,
who gave me a chance to play when their bass player quit.
Baptism by fire, I learned quickly, playing for 3 years before things
started slowing down. I also subbed for my cousin, playing with
Shalita and Milla bands  from 1997 to 1998.

I got into production in 1996, getting a copy of Cakewalk from
Shalita drummer MIke Hurley. I have been making music ever
since, producing and contributing to various projects since 1998

As I hope you know, I truly appreciate your dropping
by to check out my website. I also hope you check out my music
and purchase my CD. You will listen to it a few times, then discover
you can’t go anywhere without it. It’s an uplifting journey where
people gather to be crazy happy. And maybe sometimes just crazy…
It’s a ‘Fools Paradise’

Who is Amumba?

”Africa,African food collection…” .The song goes . He is called Elchick Echondong A.K.A. Amumba. He was born in Angong-Ebang in Momo Division, North West Region. He started his music career as a child and as he grew up he was massively influenced by his older brother who was a band/ orchestra leader . He believes his inspiration comes from God Almighty. Elchick is today a well-established musician and a professional couturier.

His first album titled ”Amumba” was released in 1991 . He found fame after the release of this album which had as hit song ”Amumba,Amumba abe eh …”. As a result of the popularity of this song, the artist was nicknamed ”Amumba”.

Elchick is presently working on his new album titled Development”, to be released before the end of this year.

He calls his  genre of music Akericossa which is a blend of Macossa and Akeri . That’s quite inspirational !

He laments on the challenges he’s been facing especially the plague called piracy- ‘I take  time to put a product together and immediately it gets to  the market after one week the CD is  every  where. I do not  rip  the fruits of my  labour…it has not really been easy”.

I was quite curious to know his favourite Cameroonian dish; Aunanaufere” which means porridge cocoyams.

Stay blessed !.

Cameroonians are talented. ZITA ALIAH A.K.A Daughter of the Most High , born on the 9th of August, 1986 . She is a musician, actress, a presenter and a writer. When we asked her  about her music she told us she is into moral and gospel rap. Presently, she has an album titled ”Town”. It was so interesting to hear that she writes these songs herself. The album is in the market and it is made up of five tracks.
As an actress, she has played lead roles in two films which are yet to get into the market.
She has worked with Mount Cameroon FM as  presenter of the program Hip Hop groove in 2009/2010. She is currently working with Hi TV as presenter of the program; Fashion and beauty.
In her own words, this is how she describes her career:
During my leisure periods I watch entertainment programs on TV, I sing and swim.
As an artist in Africa and Cameroon in Particular, I have faced challenges from my family that is, they don’t want me to pursue my talent. To them nothing good can come out of it, and again the greatest part of it is sponsoring the project financially, for example I have a project at hand with no sponsor, so it is really challenging and in addition discouraging.
My advice to all my friends with talent is this, don’t give up though the growth of the industry is slow especially the movie industry in Cameroon, so let’s put our hand on deck and make a change.’
We can. I love you all.”

Hello Dilis.

Hi NexDim

Briefly introduce youself.

My full names are Esaw Dilis Pembe Angwi. I am a graduate from the University of Yaounde 2, Soa. I hold an LLB. I am 21yrs old and  hail from Ndian Division.  I am into fashion and designing.

How and  when did you develop passion for  designing ?

As a child I can remember cutting old clothes to make dresses for my dull which sometimes were hand made as well. Cutting pieces of papers to make paper dolls and clothes was what I did when there was no teacher in class back in my primary school days. When I got to secondary school, I started sketching dresses, handbags, shoes, cars or anything that came to my mind. When I got to high school I quite remember that my uniform was over-sized.  I practically had to reduce it with a hand needle. This  tells how passionate I am with what I do. I started designing full time last year. I didnt start as early as I wanted because of my tight school schedule. But as soon as I was done with school, I got into business.

Tell the world about your fashion label?

My line was formerly called Touch Of Dilis’ious. I have changed the name to Hermoise which is  a combination of Hermine and Moise which happens to be my parents names. It is just my own way of giving back to them the love they have given me from birth.

Tell us about your elegant collections?

Shiloh Collection

I named my first collection shiloh. This was to acknowledge God for the gift and inspiration. My lastest collection is collection is called OUT OF THIS WORLD. I do what I do because I want the world to appreciate and love the african fabric and also wear them.

What inspires you?

My inspiration comes from  the passion I have to make people feel and look beautiful. I love seeing well dressed women. To me dressing up makes me look beautiful. Also the main thing is to promote the african fabric.

What do you do for leisure  ?

During my spare time, love  hanging out with the girls, go shopping, sing, swim and club if necessary.

Have you been breaking fashion rules?

About breaking fashion  rules I know very well that I am breaking some rules and also stepping on toes but I do this for the African Continent.I want to to show the world  the other part of Africa they never get to see through a variety of colourful designs, fabrics from all over africa.  Am trying to make people love what africa is about by wearing our clothes. Am an african and am proud so thats why i do what i do.

What does the future hold ?

Am looking forwarding to going high in the fashion industry, help the less privileged, own my own shop and get a masters degree within the next five years. I am presently preparing to organise a fashion show in Limbe on the 26th of March 2011.It will be involving many more designers from around the continent and it will be to showcase the beauty in wearing the African fabric.

Bamenda rocks 2

Have you attended some exhibitions or showcase?

I have attended two fashion shows since the start of my career ; they are the Tia MacRen fashion spotlight and Bamenda Rocks 2 by Kirette Couture.

Have you been collaborative?

Yes of course. I have worked with designers such as Nuvi.MacRen,LG Mbeng,Peggy Line, Kirette Couture to name a few.

We appreciate your strides  .Feels good having you on ou blog.  Wish you the best in your career.

Thank you. I equally appreciate .
