The first edition of the Castel Live Comedy Club recently came to an end. After close to 3 months of joke fights, Nana Ardo emerged as the winner. Despite the laudable nature of the initiative, one cannot help but wonder why the organisers decided to go for familiar faces. Why did they not select fresh new talent or was it the easy way of doing something big. If even corporate bodies have started being thrifty when trying to promote culture then where are we heading to? The wall I guess because individuals are either too scared or too broke to promote such initiatives.
