Piracy is a canker worm eating the very fabric of the entertainment industry in Cameroon. It has made some artists broke, others less rich and others not affluent enough. Consequently, in a bid to combat this ill, civil society organisations,  State  authorities and artists have taken to crackdowns and the burning of seized c.ds. But let's be honest for once, can piracy ever be combatted successfully? Unfortunately, the real answer is no; no matter how optimistic you want and can be. With the rise and rise of new and much- more sophisticated I.C.Ts, piracy will only wax strong. So what can be done to attenuate the impact of piracy? In addition to not investing in c.d production and exploring other avenues for revenue, I think the most important thing is accepting that  the anti-piracy fight is a lost cause. Only this admission can provide the basis for formulating effective alternatives. Let's remember that unlike in Western society where individualism is well-seated, sharing and the communal spirit are still well in place in Cameroon. This, in addition to the popularisation of I.C.T usage in Cameroon, worsens the situation as people will continue acts of piracy like downloading, burning and sharing of copyrighted works just to indulge an acquaintance's request. Until we accept that piracy cannot be combatted successful, we will never move forward. Do we agree?

Talking to NexDim CEO, Steveslil Njang, he expressed satisfaction and pessimism : ''This deal comes after recurrent negotiations with Stanley E.N.O.W for him to start hosting the Show. I think it's been so heavy for me hosting the show, managing NEXDIM operations , my personal musical career and my alternative job. Churchill and I intended to take the show to French-speaking Cameroon. So this works so well for us''

The Indomitable Lions recently beat the Guinean (Conakry) side 2-1 in Amanvilliers,France. This was during a friendly match that served as preparation for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers. With the absence of frontman Samuel Eto'o, the attack was led by big-boned striker Leonard Kwekeu although all the Lions' 2 goals came from middlefield man Choup Moting. Despite this victory, some pundits are of the opinion that this is no indication of a renaissance. This is because of the administrative problems that persist as seen through the sudden change of the match venue from Metz to the smaller town of Amanvilliers. This change was caused by the refusal of Metz authorities to let their field be used due to opposition from French football and FIFA authorities since they were not notified on time. Whatever the situation, it is our prayer that the Lions qualify with style as they used to.

Canal 2 T.V host Jason has declared that his idea for a reality T.V show called Ilomba has been stolen. The host was speaking during an interview with InMag. He said that he had pitched his idea for a T.V show called Ilomba to a producer and they had planned to contact Canal 2 with the idea. But since he Jason was an employee of Canal 2 he took a back sit and left the producer negotiate with the T.V outlet. After disagreeing with the producer over some details, he was surprised to see that the said producer had changed the name of the show and it was being broadcast on t.v. Jason Black has promised legal action and says his version of the show will soon be back on track after this incident is resolved. Who said entertainment is an easy business?
