ASABA TALKS ABOUT BATTLING WITH LOW SELF- ESTEEM AND GAINING CONFIDENCE

On “Hall Of Fame” with Darling Lyonga Official , dulcet singer Asaba Official was expressive about battling with low self-esteem and the motivation she got from her daughter Joy. She now exudes confidence and inspires women.

She said:

” I’ve battled a lot with insecurities with not feeling confident in myself and even my art. I didn’t think that I have all what it took to be a complete artist.  As you would listen to my song “Yele”, you’d hear me talk about I’m not beautiful but I’m fidel. This song hit so many people differently because it’s actually a true life story. I felt like I needed to be and look a particular way. I thought being an artist meant you needed to have a certain form, face and curves. I mean we used to watch Destiny Child,  Beyonce and Rihanna. Those girls are fine. Those women are good. That was my mentality of being a lady superstar. That day,  that moment, I had to take up the challenge and make a decision to be an artist. Not just an artist but one that inspires her generation and a generation of young women”
