
As a result of appearing on local radio at the age of 20, Angélique Kidjo was invited by renowned Cameroonian singer and producer Ekambi Brillant into the studio to record her debut album. Angélique ended up flying to Paris, for the first time in her life, to record with Ekambi Brillant and the album “Pretty” hit record stores in 1980.
The album was a phenomenal success in Africa, spawning two successful hit singles, “Pretty” and “Ninivé”.
