When Wax Dey says “Call Me”, don’ hesitate. His network in Africa is seismic.
Wax Dey ‘s influence in the African music industry has been monumental. He happens to be the first Anglophone artist to travel and settle in South Africa, a country where entertainment was advanced.
That’s when Channel O was ruling Africa and big music giants like Jozi, Zola, Mandoza, AKA, Proverb, HHP etc were selling out shows.
Wax Dey released his maiden project “Ali Gets his Alms” around 2008.
Wax Dey created a label in South Africa called Lolhiphop Records, which released Flavour’s hit album “Uplifted” with songs like “NwA Baby” and “Adamma”.
In 2014, Wax Dey initiated one of the biggest collaborations ever in Africa . He brought together
19 recording artists from 11 countries, singing in 10 different languages.
He collaborated with famous South Rapper Nasty C on “360” in 2016.
He worked with ONE organization to launch ‘Cocoa na Chocolate’, in support of a new campaign to boost investments in agriculture: ‘Do Agric, It Pays’.
He worked with Bufallo Souljah (Zimbabwe), Dama Do Bling (Mozambique), D’Banj (Nigeria), Diamond (Tanzania), Dontom (Nigeria), Fally Ipupa (DRC), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Judith Sephuma (South Africa), Juliani (Kenya), Kunle Ayo (Nigeria), Vusi Nova (South Africa), Liz Ogumbo (Kenya), Nancy G (Swaziland), Omawumi (Nigeria), Rachid Taha (Algeria), Tiken Jah Fakoly (Cote d’Ivoire) and Victoria Kimani (Kenya).
He also initiated the “Viva Mandela” project, a tribute to Nelson Mandela. He collaborated with South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest, Simphiwe Dana, Nigeria’s Banky W, Runtown and Shaydee on the project.
He collaborated with Yemi Alade on “Saka Makossa” in 2015 and won AFRIMA in 2016 as Best Male Central African Artist.
Still in 2015, he collaborated with Dontom on “Wifey” remix.
Wax Dey became a LuquLuqu Ambassador to the UN in Africa 2017.
Wax Dey was the first Cameroonian to produce a Cameroonian reality TV show, Number One Girl, which aired on Equinox TV.
He just initiated a “Call Me” movement aimed at uniting Cameroonian artists to financially empower 100 young Cameroonians to become successful.
He has just signed Anoma and Francis Slo.
