Gasha posted an apology on Facebook addressed to her former label Stevens.

She expresses deep regrets for the mistakes that let to a severance of ties with the label and pleads for forgiveness. She blames the fact that she had an amateurish knowledge about show business.

The label signed Gasha in 2013 and made remarkable strides in the music industry with the sultry songstress. She had released groundbreaking hits “Kaki mbere” and “This Life”,  garnered a massive following across Cameroon under the label , winning an AFRIMMA . Things turned stale and she exited. Steven’s management put out an official statement indicating they had an amicable seperation.

She was immediately substituted by   Daphne after the separation. It’s quite evident that this was a witty move . Daphne seems to be doing so well, she’s been basking in fame and even clinched an AFRIMMA award this year under their management.

It’s so appropriate for Gasha to apologize. We  however await a statement from Stevens.

“Reflection EP” is a collection of four distinctly unique tracks that explore the themes of Love, heartbreak, forgiveness, believe and hope. With
the EP now available in digital outlets and all the tracks streaming on various online channels, we hope you will share the links with your ever-growing readership so Daphne can be heard. We continue to value your partnership and support. Please consider sharing the below links with your readership.

“Reflection is about love redeemed…it’s about forgiveness and allowing love to come back to you,” said Daphne. The song tells the story of a lover who
is around when things are good and goes away when “things dem bad…” But the best part of the song is when Daphne asks her runaway lover to “come right away, bring all your pain along let’s burn it down …”
Reflection Lyric Video:

The theme of love continues on “Broken”, a song about a girl who’s been hurt and left broken-hearted. “This song is a chapter in everyone’s love
book,” says Daphne. “Especially for girls…(she laughs)…you want to love again but you are so scared…’cause you are broken”.
Broken Lyric Video:

Her third single seems to be a solution for the first two. After being jilted on “Reflection” and left “Broken”, Daphne turns to the “food of the
soul…the reason why we laugh, the reason why we cry, the reason why we smile, the reason why we live” – Ndolo (Love). She personifies love as God.
“God is so beautiful, and will always be the pillar of my being,” says Daphne. “I turn to God for everything” she continues.

Ndolo Lyric Video:
Ndolo Audio :

My message with the three songs is simple. “When you feel let down and broken into pieces, you need to reflect…reflection will lead you to the
truth, will lead you to love…to God (Ndolo)”.

Daphne is currently on the “Made of Black” urban tour, she just performed at the last “MTN iFest” show . Her next show is the MTN “Mobile
Money” tour on the UB campus on the 12th of December 2014. Her first single
“Rastafari”is currently on Trace TV; Urban Top 15 , Africa Top 11 and tagged  “Smash Hit”.

-Of the title,Rastafari, Daphne had this to say “On the journey of this life, we all have a destiny we must get to. Rastafari is life’ story; at the end, we are one people, with differing views and goals- but one destiny…eventually we all meet our maker. The title of this track represents a strong desire to love one another, to be your brothers’ keeper and the hope that if you put in the work, no one can stop you from getting to your goal.

Currently working on her debut album, this single is sure to introduce Daphne to the world as a true vocalist, creative songwriter and one whose music knows no boundaries. “I am all about good music…while most of my music has an African rhythm and traditional African sounds, I do not hesitate to bring into my music international flavor…you can say my records are more universal than local.” –

The purported severance of ties between Gasha and Stevens Music Entertainment has been fueling heated debates across social media and blogosphere. Recently Gasha released Faya di burn as an independent artist albeit signed to a record label. A post erupted from a sister blog concerning the issue which sparked a wave of controversy: However, the label has come out to clear the putrid air through an official declaration copied from their site . It reads:

May 2nd 2014. We are aware of discussions within social media of the issues between Gasha and her partners at Stevens Music Entertainment (SME). We have up until this point steered clear of responding to the various rumors in the hope that Gasha and SME can resolve their issue amicably and privately.

However a recent post on Gasha’s official FB page is prompting this statement of clarification.
  1. Gah-Ndo “Gasha” Ashuembom Amabo known per agreement as the Artist, is still signed to Stevens Music Entertainment (SME) known as Company per agreement. The duration of said contract is being withheld per agreements on confidentiality.
  2. It is a fact that Gasha would like to terminate her contract with SME.
  3. It is also well documented that SME acknowledges this request and has asked Gasha to follow due process to ensure a legally binding separation.
  4. It is also a fact that to this end, SME has presented Gasha with Terms of Separation of Partnership.
  5. It is also a fact that no final terms of separation have been reached between Gasha and SME.
  6. Consequently, it is a fact that Gasha has not met with or signed any separation documents or arrived at any agreement with SME for a “Clean Breakup”. If indeed such a document exists, in all fairness we invite Gasha to produce such a document or name the SME signees to such an agreement.
  7. Gasha is aware (as recently as wednesday April 14th 2014 when she last communicated with SME Rep) that SME is open to discussing separation terms that is mutually beneficial to both parties.
  8. SME will not release terms of the agreement with Gasha and will not get involved in “chit-chat” and rumor mongering on social media.
  9. We at SME believe that contracts are legally binding documents and if the need should arise and the contract needs to come to an early end (like in this case), then the only legal way to end such a contract is the signing of another agreement to end the initial agreement (with each party’s interest at the core of said document).
  10. We believe fervently that cooler heads will prevail and continue to hope that Gasha will entertain dialogue to resolving this issue. The goal being, to reach terms that are mutually beneficial to SME and Gasha.
We will not be releasing any further statements until such a point where we can put out a joint statement announcing  that Gasha and SME have agreed to terms of separation. We look forward to that day soonest and believe agreeing to separation terms is the fair and just approach.
Here is wishing the best for Gasha and for SME.
SME Management Group.
