Even without banging in the goals consistently or donning the jersey of a top European club, ace Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o still manages to attract media attention. In a recent France 24 interview, the player opened up about some issues concerning his person and career. The F.C Anzhi striker said that he left mainstream European club football because he wanted to start afresh. In response to the allegation that he was no longer making waves because of his move to a little unknown club in Russia,Eto’o said that wasn’t the case since media outlets still keep track of his performances. It is worth noting that Eto’o ‘s move to the Russian league was received with mixed feelings by fans and critics alike. While some saw this as the start of the anticlimax of the player’s illustrious career that began in Real Madrid others saw it as usual football business with the highest bidder getting the best player.
