The Cameroonian Hip Hop music scene cannot be exhaustively talked about without making mention of the name ‘’DENZYL’’

DENZYL is a Cameroonian born Afro-beats, Hip Hop artiste who is inscribing his name and leaving an indelible mark in the Hip hop scene in Cameroon.

Denzyl’s debut album entitled ‘’E don blow’’ was produced in Nigeria by J Sleek, a producer who has worked with household music names in Africa in the lights of 2 Face,Faze,Chuddy k and Sound Sultan. Some songs were also produced by Jedi of Chillen music a Buea based recording studio.

‘’E don blow ‘’ is a rich and stunning package that is receiving international acclamation by all music lovers.

Sona The Voice,Milwaukee MC recently finished his tour in Cameroon.”It’s all about money” is his hit video which enabled him earn credits in Mboa Hip Hop Awards 2009 as best Cameroonian hip hop artist in the diaspora.Sona keeps on doing and believes the sky is his limit.

Trackzone started in 2004 a as small group of 4 recording artists that later swelled up to 7 members. As a small group, they started up with a home studio producing Hip hop instrumentals and recording on them. It was until 2008 that the group decided to go from creating demos at home to being public and commercial. Subzee is now the CEO of the record label.The members of this label include BigMich ,Subzee,Trano P,Sparx,KT Rap,Young G and Mayar who is the up and coming gospel artist.

Big Mich who is the premiere artist under this label has finally dropped his debut album dubbed ” Urban Icon’‘.This song features Adele Clarisse,member of the award winning group BAAM.

Shiri Achu; the vivacious, colourful, bold, young woman was born in Cameroon, West Africa. She and her family immigrated to London, where she lived for many years. Today, she has studios in both the UK and the USA.
She picked up her first paint brush at a tender age of 9, experimenting with several mediums including oils, acrylics, water colour, mix media etc. Today, her chosen preferred mediums are acrylics and oils.
Shiri Achu’s art comes from everyday, unsurprising yet unexpectedly vivid moments, times, places and objects. She seeks to capture the spirit of her subjects and make them come alive through form, colour, texture and tone.
She draws insight from her travels but in general her inspiration is very broad; from natural moments captured in Africa to still objects, from the human form to the human in action; etc
The eternal optimist, Shiri sees beauty in almost anything and everything. She finds beauty where there is normalcy, and she sees colour through shades of grey. She therefore draws from this distinctively beautiful World of hers and aims to evoke an emotion which translates into images of delight or surprise, with the soul objective of capturing the soul of the subject.
Composition and subject m atter are key in Shiri’s works. Also, abstract/tashism is exp lored in some of her pieces, to leave her viewers to come to their own conclusions.
Shiri’s art is bold, dramatic and uncompromising. They aim to delight and leave the viewer moved as well as leave the viewer with thoughts of wonderment, at times of bewilderment – and to engage ones diagnostic imagination.

Be prepared for a new, young and fresh Cameroonian rapper to take the hip hop world by storm. His name is Bygtee and if you have not heard him spit his rhymes yet, you might just get blown away when you do. Bygtee whose real name is Terence Nakanda Ambang Menyoli was born on January 21^st 1986 in Ekondo Titi,  a south west region in Cameroon.  He  started rapping in 2002 and  in 2003, he co-founded the first Anglophone rap group in Bafoussam called One Love. In 2005, One Love released their first demo Party Up; it  was a great blow to the public. The group performed on many stages with many other talented rappers. Today, Bygtee goes solo and he took all his experiences from the hip hop environment to auto-produce his debut album. Finances issues made the task hard but not impossible. Indeed, Bygtee is proudly announcing the release of the album Time Is Money for later this year.  The rapper and a team of professionals are working hard to make the release successful. While waiting on the upcoming album, let’s get a glimpse at Bygtee’s music with the song below titled Time Is Money featuring Pace, Babs and K’.

The Milwaukee Mc of Cameroonian origin,SONA THE VOICE has arrived Cameroon.He  arrived yesterday at 5.pm at the Douala International Airport.His arrival was followed by an exclusive interview on SUELABA FM 105 with DJ Marty.

1998, Sylva and Pally discovered their passion for music & decided to compliment each other in their school (GHS LIMBE) music club.

In 2002, they began singing for the Glory of God with lyrics that inspire, multivariate, prepare, activate, challenge,and transform people to face life’s challenges, privileges,opportunities and responsibilities and ultimately bridge them from the dark phase of life to the bright phase of life.

2003, came up with a pseudonym BRIGHT PHASE a touch to further explain their choice of music. Music that bridges from wrong to right, confusion to direction, fear to faith, pain to gain and darkness to light.

It was not easy in their early beginnings until they made a good number of tours in the western, south west and north west of the republic of Cameroon. These moves exposed them for positive influence and affluence, sharpened their life stage performance and equally increased their fans.

February 2003 Beryl joined the group thus making it a trio. Together they produced a single a tittle LIVING WATER which at that level continued to announce their relevance in the world of music. Under the banner of the NATION BUILDERS INTERNATIONAL, they had their first international travel to Nigeria in 2004. While in Nigeria they were not only privileged and opportune to perform live in concerts in both DELTA and EEDO STATES, but had live TV programmes over the EDO STATES TELEVISION.

Still in Nigeria they under took a task to produce a maiden album titled WHY RELIGION (Simple Sheddy Studio) which sold in Nigeria and Cameroon though not making a mega hit.

January 2005, another face emerged (Bemo) then making the number four (SYLVA, PALLY , BERYL AND BEMO). Working with the MI studio, the group together with producer Emile M Ngumba came up with a typical contemporary Afro-style album entitled ”AFRICA Na4Be4” in 2005/2006.

At the close of 2006, they decided to embark on a project of producing the Videos of both AFRICA NA FOR BEFORE AND WHY RELIGION. This time around it was with the BLUE DROPS STUDIO. Though it caused them time, energy and money, they successfully completed this project in 2007 and immediately embarked for production and marketing in Nigeria. This trip to Nigeria unfolded to a record deal with the TREASURE WORLD RECORDS in Benin City Nigeria and smartly they added to their album a collaboration album with some Nigerian stars like Deji and Efe. Right now they are preparing for international tours both in Nigeria and Cameroon with three albums recorded.

Beside singing, they are passionate about dancing,studying, skating, browsing etc. They believe it is possible to experience the Bright Phase of life if they decide, believe and work. They are always working.

Bright Phase was nominated BEST GROUP at the 2008 KORA AWARDS and they believe the sky remains their limit.
