The Mediterranean Knights, Libya stunned 4-time-African champion Cameroon with a defeat of 2-1 to top group I in the on-going 2014 World Cup qualifiers .With a team mostly composed of defensive midfielders and unambitious attackers, Denis Lavagne and his squad have not measured up to expectations. In essence, they are yet to prove their worth and quality in organising a cohesive and offensive style of play that can bring positive results.
Libya opened scores at the 6th minute of the encounter after an amazing header after a free kick while Choupo Moting leveled the scores to make it 1-1. The match which was largely dominated by Cameroon in terms of ball possesion during the second half later turned stale when Libyan player, Osman netted a goal during injury time. Cameroon is currently 3rd behind Libya and DR Congo which beat Togo 2-0.
