REWOCAM LAUNCHES A CAMPAIGN AGAINST RAPE (SEXUAL VIOLENCE)

There is a surged prevalence of sexual violence in our local communities .

Rescue Women Cameroon (REWOCAM) , a women-led organization is gearing up to launch a sensitization and re-awakening campaign against rape during the months of April and May 2021 in Kumba.
In September 2020, REWOCAM organised a one week campaign for 50 girls aged 5 to 15, which culminated in creation of the Girls Against Rape (GAR) Club.

In February 2021, REWOCAM organized a program in partnership with Global Pearl Inc. titled ‘Survivors Voices Against Rape’ (SUVAR 2021) conference , where 30 rape survivors across Cameroon came together , to impact their local communities by telling their stories and strategizing on how to fight rape collectively.
3 amongst 4 groups were sponsored to carry out advocacy missions to fight rape in their communities after the SUVAR 2021.

We envision a Cameroon where women and girls get to attain their full potentials; educationally, economically, socially, psychologically and politically.
Over the years, REWOCAM has been involved in a lot of empowerment programs for women and girls – from scholarships to health trainings, leadership symposiums to humanitarian actions”
