After the failed date of November 12 for the start of the new football season in Cameroon ,a new date has been set. On December 12 ,Union Douala and Tiko United will lock horns at the Douala Reunification Stadium to herald the start of the 2011 MTN Elite One. The new start, set to run for two days, will feature 6 other encounters in the 14 team championship. Much is expected from this year’s season given the wind of professionalism that is blowing across the country with the creation of the professional league. In the buildup to this year’s start, inspection teams had been to various stadia around the country to examine their match-readiness. Stakeholders like the Ministry of Sports and FECAFOOT had equally promised to underwrite the fledgling league in order to ensure its viability in the management of football affairs.
