Douala-based rap trio Mic Protector have released the video to their song “Mes racines”. The song which features slam rap king Boudor is off their 2011 album release entitled “Sueur au front” which explores various themes. The video was put together by Mak Concept. In this song, the rappers criticise all those who have discarded their cultures in order to adopt foreign ones. In my humble opinion, the song isn’t anything special because in attempting to sensitise people and bring about social change they come off as preachers. Furthermore, the sound is pretty amateurish and sounds like pals trying to learn how to play a keyboard. Before you disagree, do well to watch the video.
