How unique ?

                                   JOVI’S BRAND EXPLAINED

His forthcoming album entitled H.I.V is an acronym for Humanity Is Vanishing referring to mankind’s evolution from a state of naturalness to a rather dysfunctional and artificial lifestyle. In H.I.V, Jovi showcases absolute mastery of the various existing hip hop genres ranging from the classic American hip hop to the fast rising afro centric hip hop styles.

His rap style is unique as he successfully fuses Pidgin English from his native Cameroon alongside English to vividly portray and satirize his people’s lifestyle. This further gives his music the much needed local and global appeal.

The important concept to remember in branding is to present a continuous and constant unified picture to the world of who you are and what you represent, to improve the chances that people will remember you. Jovi’s brand is unique with songs that reflect reality from an African’s perspective crossing both musical and cultural barriers.

By infusing these element in his music, Jovi’s  originality and glocal (global and local) approach to hip hop aims at transforming his fast rising music brand into an irresistible entertainment package on the back of his talent with words alongside his innovative and outstanding production/engineering skills.

It is a well established fact that the formula for success in this game right now is simple. Your following is your value. Consistently aligned to his brand are hip hop values: subversive, self-made, audacious, as well as his larger brand image, which is built around the Cameroon dream and modern day successful entrepreneur.

Worth noting is the fact that Jovi is not just an ordinary hip hop artist, he is also an astute entrepreneur. As co-owner of MUMAK Records Jovi’s intentions are clear: to excel and be a heavy weight in the media business following the list of fellow hip hop icons like P.Diddy, Jay-Z and Dr Dre .This is very crucial to his image and brand.
