The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have qualified for the next edition of the Ladies' AFCON. They obtained their ticket after defeating the Black Queens of Ghana 10-9 after post-match penalties. The match took place at the Amadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde. This latest victory and qualification is another feather on their cap as the Lionesses have equally qualified for the upcoming London Olympics. It is worth noting that in recent years, the team has despite adverse conditions been producing good results which have unfortunately almost gone unnoticed. The Enoh Ngatchou– coached side hasn't enjoyed the attention and praise usually gotten by its male counterpart. This situation although understandable, owning to the nascent status of feminine football, should not be allowed to continue. All stakeholders, supporters included, should endeavour to dedicate more of their time and resources to support the Lionesses. After all, they are the ones doing us proud now.
