The much- publicised professional league despite countless challenges is slowly taking shape. After the appointment of army General Semengue to head the body, the adoption of the regulatory text and the holding of a general assembly that culminated in the setting up of a board of directors and more is being done to ensure that the 53rd edition of the MTN Elite 1 and two championships kicks off with a sprinkling of professionalism. In this light, government as well as the Cameroon Football Federation Fecafoot, have promised to inject huge sums of money to enable the league function. On the technical front, a Jules Nyongha-led technical team has since November 1st been inspecting pitches in the West region which has many teams in both MTN Elite 1 and two. While accepting that much remains to be done to professionalise the league, one must salute what has already been done.
