Alex Song has not been part of the Cameroonian selection since their demise at South Africa 2010. The gunner’s mid-fielder was called up by Javier Clemente to join the team to face Senegal on June 4th in Yaounde. His arrival has not been welcomed by Samuel Eto’o who has been asking questions why the Arsenal player was selected. The intriguing story goes; Eto”s who just won the Italian cup arrived at Mont Febe on Monday night. While giving encouraging words to the newly selected local players, Abouna Ndzana, Devaloix Ngako and Andre Ndame Ndame, Alex Song was passing by. Eto’o ended the discussion and moved towards Alex Song to greet him. The gunners player refused to shake hands with Eto’o stating that his decision to join the Cameroon selection was not to come and shake hands with other players nor attend meetings.Furious, Eto’o moved to the restaurant to explain the situation to the coach,Javier Clemente who said he was not ready to redress the problem that moment. More irritated and pissed off , the Indomitable Lions captain boycotted breakfast and a training session with his phone turned off.
Eto’o however attended Tuesday ‘s training session. The minister of sports is presently controlling the situation.
