Armed men attacked the CRTV Tower at Mballa II during the week-end. The campus is currently under guard.
According to information rendered public by the police and relayed by press reports, the assailants arrived at Mballa II, weapons in hand, forced their entry and rushed into the tower. When an alarm was given, the bandits started shooting in all directions and fled, abandoning a weapon which was recovered by the police who arrived later.
The identity of the armed men has not yet been revealed. Investigations have been opened and it is hoped that the results will not be kept secret because the building of national television is one of the most representative symbols of political power in Cameroon. It is evident that the building is not as safe as it should be.
