NexDim announced the demise of ace multi-talented Nigerian actor Sam Loco Efe on the 7th of August 2011 after a cardiac arrest . His funeral ceremony took place on the 21st of October 2011 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria in the presence of actors like Patience Ozokwo , Nkem Owoh, Chinedu Ikedieze, Osita Iheme  and thousands of fans and sympathizers.

According to his first son Mr Bismark Efe ,  on the controversy which surrounded the corpse when his father died, he said “because he died in his hotel room, behind closed doors, the Police insisted on carrying out a post-mortem so as to ascertain the cause of death”, the result of which, he said, was still being expected.

The ceremony was graced by stunning performances by Nkem Owoh a.k.a Ukwa and his group, Patience Ozokwo a.k.a Mama G and Cameroonian artist ‘Ajebota ‘ crooner West Don and DJ Toxzik .
