Harshly criticized by Roger Milla, Cameroonian international striker Samuel Eto’o clearly questioned his participation in the 2010 World Cup.
Talking on Canal Foot, here is his declaration;
“Is it worth for me to go to the World Cup? I have a few days to think about it but I’ll see if my participation is important because I do not need that in my career, It is always ahead of events like this that people are embittered. What did Milla do ? He has not won the World Cup, they played the quarter-finals (1990), … They had one of the best teams with great players in each compartment… Is it worth for me to go to the World Cup ?

Long before the case between two of the greatest players in history Cameroonian Patrick Mboma felt a malaise within the team:
“I felt a team that was already disturbed. The disturbance was not anyway due to Roger . This case gives a little more trouble. There is a problem in the management of players who are 30 and soon to be 23. There is disgruntlement. Even if they know they will be in the list, I feel a split between Le Guen and some of the players. “

Eto’o doesn’t need dis world cup in his career I quote, meaning there is no hope 4 d lions even wt him present. Whatever, Milla is jealous.
I personally do not think Milla had to go that far. It is indeed a shame for the country. I guess EtO’O became best scorer ever in the African Nations’ cup playing with Cameroon. Please Cameroonians, disregard Milla’s comments. We have only one coach and no one asked Milla to speak on behalf of cameroonians with regard to P LE Guen’s choice for the squad.
De grâce, si nous voulons construire notre football et partant notre pays, cessons d’avoir peur des mots. Ne nous voilons pas la face pour plaire aux uns et aux autres pendant que la situation va pourrissant. Milla n’a rien dit de nouv’eau. C’est un constat que chacun de nous peut faire et surtout un point de vue. Que pour autant Eto’o en vienne à vouloir faire chanter un pays….Il n’est pas indispensable. Avec ou sans lui il faut beaucoup pour gagner la coupe du monde. Cessons donc de voir jalousie, anti-patriotisme dans toute critique. Notre foot va mal mais je crois que pour y remédier nous devons d’abord nous soigner: l’étoomania risque de nous perdre. N’en déplaise !
