List of 2011 nominees for African player of the year and best 2011 player in the continent has just been released after deliberations by the 53 members of the African footballl federation, CAF. The award which is out to recompense those who have distinguished themselves in contributing to the growth and development of football in the continent takes into consideration their performances from the month of January to November. Africa’s football giant Cameroon grapped four nominations- Samuel Eto’o (Cameroun – Anzhi Makhachkala) for Player of the year 2011, Banana Yaya (Cameroun – Esperance Sportive de Tunis) for Best player of the year 2011, Alioum Neant for Best Referee and Best Female Team goes to Cameroon. The winners will be known on December 22, in a gala organized at the banquet hall Stade House in Accra, Ghana which will be hosting for the third time.
