The Songo’os have decidedly found favour in the eyes of American soccer teams. Just like his elder sibling Franck Songo’o who plies his trade with the Portland Timbers, Yann Songo’o has joined Sporting KC and is expected to strengthen the team. Pending administrative issues to be ironed out before he makes his debut for the club, the defender has already sparked enthusiasm around his signing. After playing in France and Spain where he drew interest from giants like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, the 21 year old is set to discover football Stateside. The younger of Jacque Songo’o’s football – playing sons has featured for Cameroon at the under 20 level
where he was instrumental in their qualifying for the FIFA Under -20 2011 World Cup.
