After the attack, Dencia used her Instagram account to express her shock over the terrifying attacks and sent words of sympathy  to Kenyans. Dencia criticised world leaders for being silent and not criticising the attacks in same way they did during Charly Hebdo’s gruesome terror. She hit a nail on Lupita Nyongo’o for not being vocal in condemning the attack.

Dencia True Love Art

Dencia has unveiled new soul-searching titled ”My True Love” featuring Nigerian songstress Waje.

“Dencia featuring Waje My true Love is a sweet melodic Zouk song which tells the story of love lost. Everyone can relate to this song; everyone who has been in love and had to walk away for some reason, women who have been abused (second verse) or just any one in a situation where they had to walk away from someone they love and who has a special place in their heart.

In the words of Dencia “this is real, this happened to me, I wrote the story, we got the lyrics from it. Once you cry, it’s time to leave. Rhere’s always better out there. The alphabet had 26 letters Albert, Ben, Charles, Degualle etc unlimited options.”

“Me and u”” featuring Ghanaian superstar Sarkodie has been Dencia”s phenomenal hit. This morning, she graced  CRTV “s break-fast show “Hello”” looking feline, sparkling with stunning outfit . Hey ! Dencia didn”t get on the show without her pet dog. She surely adores her pet. Dencia has been spotted on other interviews with her dog. During “”Hello” ,  she performed her hit single “”Beri

Beri”” , fascinating the audience with incredibly sexy choreography. An excited  fan sent this text message during the show “”This girl definitely makes a man happy. Which kind temptation this . Great music”.

If you didn”t follow, NexDim got a glimpse of the interview with Njie Mbonde Albert and gathered this excerpt;

NJIE MBONDE :When you talk about coming home , I am very traditional , how much do you still remember of village life

DENCIA :To be honest with you it”s not something I have really experienced .I have been to the village probably two times in the whole of my life, and that was when my Pa died, when we went to do the ceremony. I was young, about 9 or 10. I don”t have much to remember. But I attended secondary school in North West region , so I can remember Bali, coz I attended CPC, I can remember Progressive , coz I went there. I can remember the city not really the village.

NJIE MBONDE : I hope that after making it big in the US, you are doing a recollection of your roots. So how has it been , Have you spent a great time in Cameroon ?.

DENCIA: I have been here for a week or so for a tour . Unfortunately, we didn”t do Douala and  Yaounde. Working doing the shows and making it better. It”s  been cool. I spend most of my time at home . I don”t go out that much. I stay indoors to rehearse.

It”s the glitteri

ng shortcut. It”s the easiest way in but as with all compromises the price to pay is just not worth it. While others have taken the rise and rise of the Nigerian entertainment industry as a challenge, an unsaid call to greater excellence from all of us Africans, others have go it all wrong. Thus it is now unfortunately and increasingly common to watch a Cameroonian film and ingest a Nigerian experience. This Naija wannabism hitherto observable only in Cameroonian Films has now creeped into Cameroonian music expression. And we must raise a red flag because our artists are our face and voice on the world music scene, if they look and sound like others then we don”t exist although we are. After Dencia advertently or inadvertently set the pace, here comes the lovely Naomi Achu singing in not Mankon, Bayinki, Ewondo but YORUBA. The track is titled “Wa fu mi suga” and is her latest release. Come on people. Reactions in denial will surely come on the heels of this post. But it is loudly blatantly self-evident : the goal is to sneak if not get into the good graces of Naija folk. Forget about the sad pandering that this act is, forget the denial of self. What does this say of an artist”s belief in his or her music”s power to go past glass ceilings? Not much except a lack of that belief. At a certain point, this ism betrays a complex which shoudn”t exist. It also further betrays a great misconception that has overrun many young Cameroonian artists: to get a smash hit, you need to do Naija. No, NO and NO. To get a continental smash hit, you need a sound which Africans want, and this sound isn”t the preserve of Naija. It is a human trait, it a Cameroonian trait. You just need to search and you will find it. By the way, don”t artists have to represent their hood?
