Wax heats up the Durban FANFEST with K’naan

On the 6th of July, internationally acclaimed Somali/Canadian hip hop artist, K’naan and Cameroonian star, Wax had the capacity of about 25 000 strong crowd at the Durban Fan Fest™ on their feet.

Fans were enthusiastically waving thousands of flags and rocking to the popular World Cup tune, ”Wavin’ Flag” as they screamed their support.

With the fans’ cheers still ringing across the beach, Netherlands met Uruguay and the cheering continued as supporters encouraged their teams to a win on the big screen. At the end of 90 grueling minutes it was the Netherlands who took the first semi-final 4-1 to the delight of ecstatic Durban fans.

Yesterday, 7th July, the Beach Festival opened with entertainment for the whole family from Cameroonian artist , Wax. Spain’s 1-0 victory over Germany was historic.

AFRICA STAR 2010: GUY MICHEL (Representing Cameroon) Is 2ND

Sidney Tum, representing Cameroon was winner of Africa Star 2009. Guy Michel slightly missed this time at the finals held on the the 26th of June in Yamoussoukro.

The winner of season 2 of the reality TV music contest , Africa Star is Ette Nuella from Ivory Coast. She gained favour from the jury and public at the Institut Houphouet Boigny, Yamoussoukro . Guy Michel representing Cameroon was 2nd.

Ach4life revient après la trêve observée pendant la coupe du monde avec l’un des plus gros événements du hip hop kamer, le retour sur la scène du groupe aux 03 albums à succès régnant depuis plus de 10 ans sur la scène hip hop du Cameroun avec plusieurs prix, AKSANGRAV. Dans le cadre de la présentation de son nouvel album dont on peut voir le clip en boucle sur trace tv et nos chaines locales, le groupe dans sa nouvelle configuration (EBOO et REEZBO) vient communier avec ses nombreux fans de Douala. Signé sous un nouveau label Français, nous dégusterons avec eux quelques tubes des albums précédents mais surtout les titres du nouvel album qui suscite tant des curiosités car on avait jamais imaginé Aksangrav sans Dar x. SOUTH AFRICA 2010: The frenzy and heat is on.

The ultimate dream of the current president of the world football organisation, Sepp Blatter has come to reality. There are two matches scheduled for the first day of the 19th FIFA World Cup on Friday, Jun 11. The opening match will be played between host South Africa and Mexico. In match number two France and Uruguay will go head-on.

After months of excitement brewing in the stomachs of football lovers all over the globe, the official kick started yesterday Thursday 10th June as thousands of fans gathered at the Orlando Stadium, Soweto.

The opening concert was a treat for the fans who not only gathered at the stadium but also for those across the world, who stayed up or made time in their busy schedules to catch the television broadcast of the event that saw local and international superstars performing at their best.

While Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka’ caught on like a virus, bands like Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys,K’naan enthralled the audience.

The highlight of the kick-off concert was when President of the Federation Internationale de Football (FIFA) Sepp Blatter used just three words to explain the craze surrounding the sport - “Football connects people.” Blatter’s statement was received with applause by a sea of people- white, black, coloured – stood together dressed in gold and green.
