Remember the mellow-voice crooner was a band member of the defunct CoreSouth alongside Steveslil, C-Hill and Trano. The video was produced by Ace Music Entertainment . Great Stride !

In the list of performers at the Douala Hip Hop Festival 2011 , NexDim deemed it imperative to throw light on DOUTY ,who is unknown to millions of Cameroonians. Let’s discover !
Douty is an R&B, pop and dance hall artist born to a French father and a Cameroonian mother . He was born and raised in Cameroon till the age of 17 . He grew up influenced by Afro-Caribbean music, a blend of rumba, Makossa and Reggae.
As a teenager, he was induced by artists in the 90′s like MC Solaar,Iam,Alliance, Ethnik,American R&B artists like Jodeci,Usher,Joe,Babyface and Jamaican music sensations like Shaba Ranks,Pliers,Mr Vegas and Shaggy.Michael Jackson however remains a reference and a source of inspiration throughout his career.
Upon release of his debut single in 2003 in France , Douty like many other artists suffered the ramnifications of the profession and the industry’s crisis. Nevertheless, he carried on with other projects like the establishment of a record label in Cameroon to groom young African talents.
Later on, Douty decided to get back to composing and interpreting with the collaboration of his old friend Mike Giorgi ,ex member of the group “Organiz” .He decided to record not one but two albums; the first one a tribute to his Afro-Carribean background for an exclusive distribution on the African continent and the second clearly urban blended with electro and hip hop influences…destined to Europe and the US.
This musical diversity reminiscent of his “metissage” will be representative of an eclectisism of which he is proud of.
The official release of the first two singles of both albums are expected to drop by January 2012.
Douty ‘s mission to Cameroon is to shoot the video of his new single ”One NATION”, and perform at the Douala Hip Hop Festival.

The maiden edition of the Douala Hip Hop Festival ended in yesterday 30th December 2011 at the Soppo Stadium in Bonapriso, Douala under the auspices of the Delegation of Culture. The event was seasoned by a trail of performances by Valsero, Douty, Boudor, Jovi, Duc-Z, Terror, Ayriq Akam, Hobskur, VBH, Métissage, LAUREN BY, Sissongoh MC’S, Jah Stress, Kastra, Lord Erico, Urban Ladies, Sangoa Mboa, Dark Light, Izmo, Ivee, Dos legar, Juddah, Obidy Style, DJ Sunshine, Dj NAS, DJ AXEL FROST, and DJ EMDY.
After the release of the long talked-about album ”Turn of Events” earlyDecember , the prolific Hip Hop newcomer and Hi TV presenter DA BREEZE has been garnering popularity in the Hip Hop scene. His album is full of dexterity and charming punchlines to get you off your feet. The following song ”One day” which features Menko is a sweet tune off his just unveiled album .The song was produced by DJ Zee of Trackzone Records.

SA based Cameroonian rapper RUFF X a.k.a Fotika Raul who featured on JOZI ’s classic hit ”Diva” has been receiving much hype and exposure on MTV Base , Channel O and other highly rated TV Channels. His game definitely ain’t stopping. He is out with a new joint and fresh video titled ”What you working with” extracted from his 2nd Mixtape ” All or Nothing” . This dude is a rich package !

The Mboa Hip Hop Awards has been one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in Cameroon Hip Hop music scene, gathering all the buzz and hype on Canal 2 though revolving only around French-speaking Cameroon artists, segregating English-speaking artists; ”A French-speaking Cameroon thing”.
This year , a vehement promise was made by the organizers to get artists from the English-speaking part of the country utterly involved in the activities of this edition. Hopes got ignited and a feeling of belonging sparked off. A sense of unity !
Fair enough, a derogatory category was nursed dubbed ”Best Anglophone Artist” having as nominees; Zinnia, Adah, and Dr Sley . Apartheid ? I don’t know .
This act of segregation got several English-speaking artists and music pundits worried, feeling a foul air looming which urged them to air out sad sentiments on social networks FACEBOOK and TWITTER:
STV 2 presenter, Tito Valery called on all not to vote anybody in that category and lamented why there isn’t a category for ”Best Francophone Artist”
Daddy Black, Steveslil and a plethora of English-speaking artists expressed sad feelings either. The humilation didn’t end there but extended to a putrid level of treatment experienced by the English-speaking nominees in Douala.
Reggae-soul sensation Dr Sley , who just arrived from UK , a nominee in that category made this remark on Facebook after making the trip to Douala for the award ceremony;
” They told us of Akwa Palace as our hotel, but rather we went to one funny house not fit to call a hotel, without a tv working, bathing from a bucket, DIRTY BED SHIPS AND PILLOW CASE. as if its not enough, I DID NOT EVEN PERFORM. now I am asking WHY? Every single French artist was to pass on stage before any English artist. Then due to the boring nature of some of their artists, the show ended. Now I did not pick up award, I did not have a good sleep, I did not perform to my fans. Then why did they invite me. Even my transport they did not provide but every french artist was given something or was transported. Now, we are like strangers in our land. Well, we don’t need them to be up there. The work continues”
Another factor that marred this year’s Mboa Hip Hop Award was the voting procedure; Dr Sley speaks out;
”The first question I ask when I arrived, how come we are voting to a personal telephone number, what if the person deletes some votes in favor to another person? They said, because the MTN Data base which they have could not hold all the votes. But my question is how many messages can a phone receive, not up to 150 messages. But i know i got atleast 500 votes. How could they manage it? So i knew its all fake. But i was left back to perform and till now i feel terrible for not singing to my people. I had a good message for them. well Jah took us back savely and i say thanks to all those who believed in me.
What then is the next step for artists from the English speaking part of Cameroon ?

Emmanuel Ndinayi a.k.a The Playboy JayJay was born on December 7th 1994 . He is a multi-talented and versatile Individual expressing as a singer/rapper, model,actor,comedian and Entrepreneur. Influenced by his peers, Emmanuel dropped from school in Form 4 from Sacred Heart College in 2009 and embarked on a full-time music career. He realized his mistakes in August 2010 and said “nothing can go without education”. This induced him to return to school one class less than his mates. He dropped his debut LP in March 2011. ”Fly with me” is a song off his album ‘The New Era” in stores.

Cameroonian rap sensation Jovi finally unveils to the media and the great public, his official album cover artwork designed by video director February 16th. With his first single Don 4 Kwat currently enjoying heavy rotation on Trace TV, there is now a huge demand for the much talked about H.I.V. album. The Mumak rapper is reputed for spitting out the most creative breathtaking lyrics in both English and the native Pidgin English that relate and connect with his people’s lifestyle.
The H.I.V. album has been tipped by many pundits as the album that will re-brand and revolutionize Kamer hip hop.
