New Cameroonian rapper based in USA, Taku Asek a.k.a Big V-Face has released his first  single ”Welcome to the Jungle” . On the  South-side  patterned instrumental , he depicts his  image of a typical Kumba-raised prodigy through his lyrics. Big V  was raised in Kumba where he resided before traveling to USA.

Cameroon-American hip hop sensation SCOLLA (formerly Young Scolla) has not rested on his laurels after releasing big hits like ‘Reflection’, ‘Gimme A sign’ and ‘Seconds Away’. The Detroit-based emcee just dropped a new single titled ”Tell me If you down”. The joint was produced by Ric and Thaddeus . Aspiring Cameroonian hiphop artist T.A.G has given some music fans what they have long been waiting for: a remix of Jovi’s hit track “Don for kwat” . The remix is entitled “Mbom for kwat” and brings a new twist to the smash hit. It equallly reaffirms Jovi’s wide-appeal as an artist since only the best get remixed. This song comes at a time when some controversy has surfaced as to whether the “Don for kwat” track isn’t a remix of another song. Whatever the case, this song is a must listen and provides this up- and -coming artist some much- needed exposure.

The highly anticipated album ”LOTUS SP” by bona fide Hip Hop sensation MELCUBE has finally dropped. Rated as one of the best lyrically appealing Hip Hop album in Cameroon by some Hip Hop  pundits, Lotus SP is a must-listen album. Naija-based Cameroonian Afro-beat sensation Chinepoh a.k.a XCELENT(previously known as Excel) has broke the long silence with a terrific video of his new single ”Shaye”. The song , apparently an enthralling club-banger is currently being aired on radio across Cameroon and we are optimistic about its success . According his manager Emmanuel Cole‘s declaration on FACEBOOK, this video is worth 2.4 Million CFA frs. Xcelent has been rubbing shoulders with music heavyweights in Naija and recently performed during 2 Face Idibia‘s album launch at Eko Hotel, Lagos.

Visibly, there has recently been a dramatic improvement in the quality of Cameroonian urban music videos.  February 16th , Makconcept, NS pictures, etc keep setting the pace and the standard is just commendable.  ”SHAYE”  video was produced by Shamak of MAKCONCEPT.

Here she goes again. Cameroonian soul princess Danielle Makedah Eog has offered connaisseurs and fans of soul another chance at musical delight. “Hiphop nation” is her latest. As usual, it is a brilliant piece of soul music with a sassy hint of hiphop. Like the virtuoso that she is, she keeps it simple yet classy. This song triggers thoughts of other soul greats like Erykay Badu and Musiq Soulchild. Despite her artistic brilliance, Danielle Eog is yet to get widespread recognition here in Cameroon given soul’s newcomer status in the mainstream Cameroonian music landscape. Pending a massive hit that will make her and soul known to the wider public, she is, in my humble, destined for the world music scene where she will surely soar. Enjoy this track.

Just Wôan is one of Cameroon’s finest uprising stars whose vocal dynamics , dexterity and charisma  are absolutely enthusing and dazzling . Yea ! I watched him sing live today on  ”Canal Martin” and wowed .  His debut album ”Des Reines”  will certainly captivate attention across Cameroon and the world.  The Afro-soul and R&B  sensation shall offer a free  album launch concert today 8 pm, at American Graffiti, Akwa, Douala. Just Woan  shall be accompanied by percussionist Roddy Ekwa of Macase , bassist Herve Mboma and traditional guitarist , Ali Kaka. Just Woan has been booked to perform at the Francofolies in Montreal, Canada in June and later in Paris.
