Born on June 19th 2011 in Kumba, AaBLASHD AGENCY has skyrocated the blitz and glitz of fashion as they introduce fabulous models with style, design and beauty, exposing the inside of every woman, with the first bikini show in the South West Region. With audience going gaga, fashion in the South West Region is experiencing a wind of change. In every tongue the trendy activities of AaBLASHD is a thing of great confession. In an exclusive interview with Susan Beyombe, one of its finest models, NEXDIM enjoyed the ride into the agency’s mystery.

NEXDIM: Hello Susan, we are glad to have you on NEXDIM

SUSAN: It’s my pleasure

NEXDIM: Tell us, what is AaBLASHD?

SUSAN: AaBLASHD is a modeling agency aimed at encouraging, promoting and training young girls and boys with great aspiration of becoming models. It transforms them from nothing to something. And I am an example.

NEXDIM: As a model, is without doubts that your looks are extremely glaring, like right now. Please tell us your secret.

SUSAN: Sincerely speaking, AaBLASHD has played over 75% role as regard my looks. That is from make up training, gym sessions and beauty tips. Without which I guess I wouldn’t be this glaring. So with this look, I say thank you to AaBLASHD.

NEXDIM: It caught our attention that AaBLASHD Models hit the runway in BIKINIS, tell us your very first experience.

SUSAN: Modeling is fashion and fashion is sacrifice. To me, it was fun and from the crowd’s respond with hailing and applauses we were certain we have hit the jackpot. I believe as a model Bikini is one of the most casual out fit, and no matter how long I run from it the ‘D’ day might just be my last. I was so shy and lucky cos I wasn’t the first online to hit the runway. As the hailing continued so was my courage and when it was my turn, I just realize, I was in and out without a panic. It was a beautiful experience.

NEXDIM: How often have you paraded in bikini since then?

SUSAN: When ever we have a show Bikini is among the outfits and we have had three shows so far.

NEXDIM: What do you have to say about the crisis and challenges AaBLASHD has been facing.

SUSAN: To me there is no success without a trail. I believe in challenges and that’s what makes man. We are just a year old and have created a lot of impact on the society and that is something to boast of. There is no fear or tension in the agency and no matter how much people talk, they have nothing to do but to remain Zen

NEXDIM: Any advice to youths in respect to your career?

SUSAN: Oh yes, ¾ of Cameroon’s population call us prostitutes but the truth is ,we only sell what we wear and not our bodies. So if you ever dream of becoming a model do not let this prostitute thing hold you back for I say it is a responsible, creative and lucrative career. What ever you become at the end , is your choice. It is as clean as football but the players make it dirty. And for those already in it, learn to follow your shadow and take baby steps all the way to success. If not, your fall will be that of a laugh.

Hi,there nexdimemperors and empresses. Just as we promised you last time, here is our interview with upcoming U.S based Cameroonian trio Cyclops. The band is made up of VreezyVille , KayZeey and the only lady in the house Gabby. Read the chat below and get to know them better.

Nexdimempire.com: Tell us a little bit the band?

Cyclops: Actually, we started together in the year 2010 when VreezyVille and KayZeey did an afro-pop collabo on a track titled “She Bad“,so we realised we could be better together as a band. We later added Gabby, the only lady in the band, in the year 2011 after a collabo we had with her on a track titled “Shake It”.

Nexdiempire.com: How did you guys come about the name Cyclops?

Cyclops: Well, Cyclops being the name of the band is due to the fact that the name symbolises greatness in the ancient Greek empire, so we believe we are all great individuals working together as one based on our GOD given talents.

Nexdimempire.com: What makes Cyclops unique as a band?

Cyclops : Cyclops as you know is comprised of three different individuals who have diffferent talents and abilities to move things,us being unique is seen in the fact that we could make music based on every genre you could think of from Afro-pop,hip-hop,RnB, Soul and rock which I believe not every band out there can do.

Nexdimempire.com: Do you guys plan to stay together all along or go solo at some point?

Cyclops: Like you know it’s hard to predict the future so us going solo at some point in life is difficult for me to tell or assume but being together as a band for now is what I’m very sure of as you could see we are already a band. So, let’s just see what the future holds for us.I VreezyVille will tell you I don’t plan going solo because I love my team and I believe they also won’t wish to go solo at anytime soon.

Nexdimempire.com: Making it in America isn’t easy even for Americans,so how do you intend to go about it?

Cyclops: It’s very true that it is not easy making it in America or being successful in whatever you do but if you know the saying which goes “two heads can do a whole lot and are better than one” then you would understand where I’m heading to. In our case, it’s not just two but three heads working together as one so we strongly believe in GOD that he is gonna lead us through cuz we are best at what we do.

Nexdiempire.com: Three people means three different humours,schedules,visions and more. How do you make your group always stay one in everything?

Cyclops: We won’t lie but tell the truth. It’s not always easy for us to stay as one especially when we have to meet up with a recording session due to our different schedules but you know things always work out and we get to achieve our goals at the end of the day cuz we all believe in ourselves and what we do”music”.

Nexdimempire.com: (for the lady only) Isn’t it a little  daunting being the only lady in the band?

Cyclops: Well, we don’t think she is intimidated being the only lady in the band cuz she is much talented like the two gentlemen and always delivers to her best when needed so we know she’s good and even cool with the fact that she is the only lady.

Nexdimempire.com: What do you guys intend to achieve as a band?

Cyclops: As Cyclops our intention is always to bring excellent music to the table of our fans, families and friends and our greatest achievement will be if the same fans,families and friends will accept and appreciate what we give their ears to feed on “Excellent Music”.

Nexdimempire.com: Any last word?

Cyclops: Our last word? Even without banging in the goals consistently or donning the jersey of a top European club, ace Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o still manages to attract media attention. In a recent France 24 interview, the player opened up about some issues concerning his person and career. The F.C Anzhi striker said that  he left mainstream European club football because he wanted to start afresh. In response to the allegation that he was no longer making waves because of his move to a little unknown club in Russia,Eto’o said that wasn’t the case since media outlets still keep track of his performances. It is worth noting that Eto’o ‘s move to the  Russian league was received with mixed feelings by fans and critics alike. While some saw this as the start of the anticlimax of the player’s illustrious career that began in Real Madrid others saw it as usual football business with the highest bidder getting the best player. The Cameroonian music scene is a diverse mix of all sorts of people who are united by their love of the game and their immense talent. One of those is Rio Phills whose love for hip-hop in particular and music in general comes from deep within. We caught up with the artist and he had this to say.

Nexdimempire.com: Kindly tell our readers who Rio Phills is?

Rio Phills: Hi everybody. There’s not much to say about me. I’m just a  guy who loves music and who wants to share that passion with people all over the world.

Nexdimempire.com: When did you get into music and what are some of your influences?

Rio Phills: I have been making music for four or five years now and I listen to many genres ranging from Rock ‘n’ Roll to pop, country, r’n'b, hip-hop, electro and so much more. Some of my favorite artists are people like  Mohombi,2 Face Idibia, K’Naan, Akon , Linkin Park, Nneka, Ayo  and others.

Nexdimemmpire.com: Why then are you drawn to hip-hop in particular?

Rio Phills: Destiny. ( laughs). Seriously, I can’t explain this. During  my childhood, I listened to all  kinds of music but I’ve decided to sing r’n'b, hip-hop, electro. It’s just how it goes . It’s the style of music I like the most. It comes from deep within my soul.

Nexdimempire.com: What are your impressions about the state of hip-hop in Cameroon?

Rio Phills: There are many great talents but the hip-hop industry here needs more support, promotion and professionalism.

Nexdimempire.com: What are your accomplishments so far and what more are you planning?

Rio Phills: Since I started, some people have always been telling me to make an album. I think that an artist doesn’t only have to  make an album for the sake of making an album. You have to be strategic. First of all, you should build your fan base with people who will support your music and who will be able to buy it when they  hear it’s been released. Many unknown hip-hops artists here often release albums; it is not bad but you must get great promotion in order to succeed in such a situation. Talking about me and my career, first of all ,I want to release my first single because this far  I only have demos recorded and mastered by me. I think that today I am ready to make a single and I want it to be international. I am taking all my time to work on it. It can be ready in a few months. I will make a video and I will promote it. I’m self-sponsored but I would really like to get a contract with a producer or a label to help me achieve this.

Nexdimempire.com: With your experiences so far, will you encourage anybody to become a hip-hop artist in Cameroon and why?

Rio Phills: Why not? But never abandon your studies to make music. First of all, you should consider hip-hop as a hobby, a passion. Your education should be your priority. Me for example, I’m a student in the University here in Cameroon. Maybe if you sign a serious contract then you can concentrate all your energy on your career.

From Pyramid Productions Cameroon comes this new upcoming US based Cameroonian gospel artist with her just released debut musical album ‘True Inspiration’. Born in the south west province, Tiana Bibish Elad commonly known as Elad Christina Bibish hails from the city of Kumba and is also University of Buea alumni, a song writer, composer and producer of music and movies. Her style is unique, inviting and there is plenty of variety and breath in her music, most of which can be called gospel pop, merengue and techno.

“True Inspiration” was officially released on February 19^th 2012 in the U.S and since then it has been a hit on most radio stations in Los Angeles and California where the album is making waves. Being an accomplished entertainer of radio talk shows, stand-up comedy and a screen actress, she has decided to take an upbeat gospel musical style which she believes incorporates every age-group. She uses her music as a meeting point between those who listen to the music and the message of the music.

Tiana is one of those Cameroonian gospel artists who are trying to reinvent the gospel music and set up a new pace and tone for a stand-out gospel music revival where young people will not be left out. Consenting to her calling which she describes as a God timely calling, she goes ahead to write and compose several songs with her brother Sean D Elad who is also known in the Cameroonian entertainment business for his writing and composing skills especially after his participation in the “ Concours de la chanson in early 2011.

Back then Tiana used to be well known and loved by fans that had the privilege to have followed and listened to her programs over Lake site Radio Kumba. Her unique voice and style in running her programs and broadcasting the news won her over to the fans that still miss her. Deeply rooted in traditional choir from NewLayout youths Kumba, Rose of Sharon Singers and others etc, and interwoven with the renaissance and vibrant color, not leaving out the texture of world’s gospel music, Tiana has put her music in a personal context to define and demonstrate her melodic finesse and positive standing with God as she tells the world through her music

Nexdim: Hello Quin

Quin: Hello Sarah

Nexdim: In some few words how would you describe yourself?

Quin: Well before that I must say you guys at Nexdim are doing a very great job. Back to myself now am a film maker, I produce and direct movies and act too most of the time. I studied in the University of Buea then I did an M.A programme in Development Policy – CERIS Brussels, an MBA in the University of Antwerp and presently am studying a PhD programme.

Nexdim: From which part of Cameroon do you hail?

Quin: I hail from the North West region precisely from Wum.

Nexdim: When and how did u start your career as a filmmaker?

Quin: I got involved in film making back in 2008 when I was contacted by a very good friend Enah Johnscott (now director of Triangle of Tears), who was shooting his then movie. I did script analysis for him and  gradually I developed the passion to contribute in a way towards the advancement of the Cameroon movie industry.

Nexdim: Tell about your stay back then in Cameroon.

Quin: I got my Advanced level certificate from GHS Wum and that same year got admitted into the University of Buea, I graduated from the University of Buea with a B.Sc Accounting in 2009 and upon graduation i got admitted to study a Masters in Development policy at CERIS Brussels, then I left Cameroon.

Nexdim: Some of your works please.

Quin: In 2008 I served as the script writer of  ‘The Mad Crown‘  produced and directed by Enah Johnscott and in 2010 I assisted in the production of  ‘Shades’ with Titus Banyuh. 2011 I was the lead role actor and producer of  ‘The Strength of Cha Cha’, directed by Enow Florence and released that same year. As I left Cameroon, I have been the Director and Executive Producer of ‘Critical Point’ shot with locations in Belgium and Holland and due to be premiered in Belgium, Germany, Holland, Cameroon, the UK and the USA,will be released in April 2012 and it features Samy Diko and Ghanaian actor Samuel Ruffy Quansah. I also lead roled in the movie “Confused Bachelors”, it is  produced and directed by Simon Timah, shot with locations in Holland and Belgium and its dued to be released in June 2012.

Nexdim: What can you say about movie making in Cameroon?

Quin: Fufu and Eru

i graduated with a M.A in Development Policy from CERIS in 2010 and got admitted for an MBA specialization in Accounting at the University of Antwerp Belgium that same year graduated at the University of Antwerp in september 2011, and gain admission into a PhD in accounting immidiately so i now study a PhD

La scène musical camerounaise connaît une véritable revolution avec l’émergence d’une nouvelle génération de jeunes artistes reconnaissables par leurs talents et leurs styles. Au rang de ceux-ci figure l’artiste gospel Kardy qui vient de commettre sur le marche discographique un album intitulé “Mes memoires” dont l’un des titres phares s’ intitule “prospérité”. Nexdimempire a eu le plaisr de rencontrer l’artiste qui nous a parlé de sa personne et de sa musique.

Nexdimempire: Qui est l’artiste Kardy?

Kardy: Un artiste gospel produit et enseigné par le Docteur Stephan Jonatan Din. Je suis un auteur,compositeur, artiste comedien qui a concretisé plusieurs scènes sur le teritoire national. Artiste de concert urbain, de séminaire sur la lutte contre la pauvrete etc….. mais Kardy n’a pas encore fini de faire parler de lui.

Nexdimempire: Depuis quand faites vous de la musique et qui sont vous idoles?

Kardy: C’est mon domaine de prédilection donc je peux oser dire depuis toujours mais pour ne pas choquer ceux qui croient au travail acharné je dirais 9 ans. J’ai commencé avec un groupe connu Lardineg que tout le monde connaît. Je suis multiculturels donc très sensibles aux sonorités du terroir ou du globe. Je suis peut-être le premier artiste gospel qui est fan de  2PAC. J’ai été très fan de lui et aujourd’hui encore “Dear mama” resonne encore  en moi.

Nexdimempire: Vous venez de rendre dispo une chanson intitulée “prosperité”. Parlez nous un peu de cette chanson

Kardy: C’est le rêve de tout être humain un jour d’être reconnu. Les artistes de mon bled sont souvent marginalisés, rejetés et simplifiés .On les accusent de travalloter. Nous ne demandons rien d’autre que de vivre de nos musiques, avoir une famille, la nourire et prendre soin des autres. Cette musique parle aussi de tous les versets bibliques que les frères négligent ou oublient et ils ignornent que le Dieu très haut que nous servons à lui appartient le ciel, la terre et les choses et tout ce qu’il s y trouvent et quand meme il reste saint. C’est un extrait de mon album que j’ai intitulé “Mes memoires” sorti le 31 décembre 2012.

Nexdimempirecom: Dernièrement on note une montée en puissance de la musique gospel au Cameroun. D’après vous, qu’est-ce qui  explique cette situation?

Kardy:Notamment la puissance de mon Dieu. Les fils de mon Dieu sont entrains de comprendre qu’ils doivent prendre leur position de fils et montrer aux autres que tout est possible à celui qui croit . Pour moi je crois que c’est une partie du salaires. Mon dieu a exhaussé nos prieres. Quel que soit le style dans lequel  j ‘exerce la musique est universelle et quoi de plus normal que de changer la donne. C’est mérité et je veux que jamais ça s’arrête.

Nexdimempire.com: L’album sorti, que préparez vous d’autres pour vos fans?

Kardy: Tout de meilleur. Des délires de chorégraphie  à leurs couper le souffle. Aussi qu’ils aient confiance en Dieu, qu’ils prient pour moi.

Nexdimempire.com: Mot de fin.

Kardy: Stephane Jonathan Din a dit que l’heure n’était plus à la réflextion pour moi. Elle est à  l’action, qu’à force de réfléchir on finit par fléchir. Je salue tous les valeureux guerrier, les fils bénis du Dieu béni, ceux qui ont la foi je vous parle moi même en tant que fils de Dieu. Restons positifs et changeons le pays. God bless you all.
